Father & Son Build BEAUTIFUL Off Grid Cabin In Canadian Wilderness

Father and son build an awesome off grid cabin in the Canadian wilderness together. Such a beautiful log cabin build and in a wonderfully natural setting. This is the stuff log cabin dreams are made of. A few words. This is a long video of a relatively complex build. A lot of skill and talent and discipline went into this build as you can tell from the finished product. This isn’t something you’re just going to throw together on your homestead property in a day, week, or month even. This takes time and planning, and a lot of hard work to get it done. To build a log cabin of this quality takes craftmanship, determination, knowledge, skills and discipline to continue through all the way to completion. This is one of those log cabin builds that not only inspires people to build their own cabin, it goes into detail about how they did it. The chinking in my opinion isn’t something that I would have done the way they did it. It still looks good, and it accomplishes what needed to be done, it’s just not how I would do it. People dream of building their own log cabin. It’s a universal shelter from the elements. It’s rustic. It’s natural. It’s a shelter building style that’s thousands of years old. People from all walks of life and culture and societies all over the world have built similar log cabins. The log cabin is the quintessential shelter for living in the woods, in the mountains and woodland areas all over the world. Every country on earth that has woodland areas, mountains, and wilderness areas have log cabins. Trees are readily available building materials and most homes on earth are built from them. This log cabin build is an inspiration for all off gridders and homesteaders looking to learn how to build a log cabin. So sit back and relax and watch the show. It’s worth the time to watch them build such a beautiful cabin. ***

How To Build a Chicken Coop For $50

How to build a chicken coop for $50, in an hour! Using the tools and materials he has laying around the homestead, Doug from Off Grid With Doug & Stacy on YouTube, shows us how to build a chicken coop with the quickness. He only bought the lumber which was just few 2″x6″ 10′ boards, some chicken wire fence, some metal fencing, some wire ties and tie-wire, and some black plastic sheeting for cover. It’s a cheap and easy way to build a chicken coop, and it works in a pinch. You could easily add wheels to the front and back-end of it and attach a rope to the front and make a chicken tractor to move the coop around the yard/property. The idea is simple and quick enough anyone can build it without much time or materials, and I’m sure if you looked around the homestead could save that $50 and find all the materials you need to build the whole thing. Chicken wire (fencing) is cheap and you should always have a roll or two laying around. Same thing with all the materials he uses to build this quick little chicken coop. I likely wouldn’t use something like this for permanently holding my chickens, but it’s great for temporary use and it’s cheap and easy to build. Here’s a video of Doug showing you how to build a chicken coop!
