Classifieds Rules & Prohibited Items
Off Grid Living & Survival Classifieds is a free community board for our newsletter members to buy, sell, trade, and connect. It's a place to list things — not a store. We don't handle payments, we don't ship anything, and we don't take a cut. All deals are directly between members. By posting, you agree to the rules below.
🚫 Do NOT post any of the following
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapons regulated by federal or state law.
- Controlled substances, drugs, drug paraphernalia, tobacco, or alcohol.
- Hazardous materials or anything dangerous to ship or handle.
- Anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or recalled, or that you don't have the right to sell.
- Live animals sold for profit in violation of local law (rehoming/adoption of livestock or pets may be allowed where legal — know your local rules).
- Adult or sexually explicit content or services.
- Scams, pyramid/MLM recruiting, "get rich quick," or deceptive offers.
- Prescription drugs, medical devices, or health products making illegal claims.
- Personal information of others, or anything that infringes someone's copyright or trademark.
- Hateful, harassing, defamatory, or threatening content.
Who can post
You must be at least 18 and a logged-in Off Grid Living & Survival newsletter member. Posting is free. To keep the board honest and traceable, your name and a working phone number are kept on file with every listing. Your phone stays private unless you choose to display it. Providing false ID information, or posting on behalf of a banned user, is grounds for removal.
Your listings and conduct
You agree not to:
- Post anything prohibited above, or anything illegal, fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive.
- Misrepresent yourself, your item, its condition, or its price.
- Spam, post duplicates, scrape, or automate the board.
- Post anything you don't have the legal right to sell, rent, or give away.
You keep ownership of your content, but you grant Off Grid Living & Survival a non-exclusive license to display and promote your listing on the site while it's active.
We can remove anything
Listings publish immediately, but we may remove any listing and suspend any member at our discretion — especially anything reported or that breaks these rules. Every listing has a Report button; please use it. We review reports and act on them.
OGLS is a venue, not a party to your deal
Off Grid Living & Survival is a bulletin board that connects members. We do not own, inspect, verify, guarantee, or take part in any item, transaction, or communication between members. We don't verify identity, condition, legality, or the accuracy of any listing. Every transaction is directly between you and the other member.
Safety
Meet in a public place, inspect items before you pay, bring a friend when it makes sense, and never wire money, send gift cards, or pay someone you haven't met. If a deal feels wrong, walk away and report the listing.
Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The Classifieds board is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," with no warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Off Grid Living & Survival and its owner are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, or dispute arising from a listing, a transaction, or any interaction between members. You use the board and deal with other members at your own risk.
Copyright
We respect intellectual property. If you believe a listing infringes your copyright, report it and contact us at our contact page. Repeat infringers are removed.
Changes
We may update these rules at any time. Continued use of the Classifieds board means you accept the current version.
