Living off the grid is about freedom and independence

Living off the grid is about freedom and independence. Being self reliant and not dependent on a system that cares nothing for your well being or the wellbeing of your family. To be truly self-sufficient one must be off grid and be able to produce and maintain all the necessities of modern life.

This includes water, power, food, shelter, and yes, utilities including the internet. Your power comes from solar and wind and you have a battery backup. And you might have a gas or diesel (biodiesel generator) to use for power in case of emergencies.

You have a workshop/barn filled with the tools and equipment you need to run and maintain your off grid homestead. You have a small but sufficient number of livestock animals for food and other valuable resources like meat, eggs, hides, milk, cheese, etc.

You have a large enough parcel of land that is either in a forest, or mountains, or borders national/federal land, where you can grow and raise enough food and have the resources you need to maintain your off grid homestead.

Trees, rock, clay, for building and rich soil for growing, and a reliable potable water source is paramount for self-sufficiency of your homestead.

Whether you buy or build your own doesn’t matter, what matters is that you never have to rely on the system again, and that if the world does happen to end and society collapses, you and your friends and family will be ok.

If it doesn’t, you’ll be able to live a happy fulfilling life, off grid, independent and FREE!
