2 Men Build Beautiful Post & Beam Style Log Cabin

Take a look at this beautiful post and beam style log cabin built by two men in Slovenia. This is a very different construction technique from your typical log cabin. one of the more interesting parts of this build was the way they stripped the bark from the logs using a pressure washer instead of a draw knife. Much faster and more efficient. It does wet your logs, but who cares? When you look at the end result it is by far one of the most beautiful small cabin builds I’ve seen. The attention to detail and quality of framing is evident.

Here’s a short 20 minute video with all the highlights: A more detailed longer version is below.

I like watching these videos because it gives me idea for my own cabin build, and I like learning new techniques from all over the world. Log cabins have been around for thousands of years, the concept of stacking logs to build a shelter is rather simple, in and if itself, however there is a certain craftmanship and skill level it takes to build something of this quality.

Here’s the more detailed 1 hour long video showing more of the build process:

I particularly love the large “posts” used for the corners of the cabin build. Very large logs can withstand a huge load from an engineering perspective, and adds a beauty to the cabin’s aesthetic that gives it a high end luxury cabin feel. You could do something like this on your own cabin.

This cabin turned out very nice.
